First Haircut

Reagan got her very first haircut recently!! She was such a big girl and really did great. We went to Pigtails and Crewcuts, a children's hair boutique that specializes in children's haircuts. They have the cutest set-up. All of the chairs are specifically designed with children in mind. Reagan got to sit in a fire-truck while she got her hair cut!!! She loved every minute of it and totally hammed it up looking at herself in the mirror. Here are some pictures of Reagan's First Haircut!!

Visit with the Big Jolly Guy

So, Reagan had her first experience visiting with Old St. Nick himself this year. So, how do you think she did?

Do you think she crawled right up on his lap, snuggling in close, pulling on his long white beard and giving him a flash of her beautiful smile??

Or...

Did she shutter with fear, kick, scream, cry, cry more, and more, and more, and scare all of the other kids and make them not want to visit with the poor old jolly man with the red suit???

What do you think???

Hmmmm.........

Did you guess right?? What is it with kids and santa, poor guy!!! The best part of all of it was as Jeremy was carrying Reagan up to visit with Santa, I knew right away nothing good was going to come of this venture. Santa could tell too... He looked at me and half smiled, with some sadness in his sparkling blue eyes, and said to me in all seriousness "You better hurry (taking the pictures), it will only get worse" I chucked to myself, poor guy, guess he has been around this block before:-)))

As for Reagan, as soon as she got away from that mean old scary man, she was just fine!! I sure did think that she looked cute all dressed up for Santa though!!!

Family Pictures

If you know me well, you know that I love photography and wish wish wish that I was or could be really really good at it!! I just think that its such an amazing talent to be able to capture the true essence of people in a photograph, and I treasure all of my pictures!! So, in light of me falling short of being a great photographer, I have been blessed to have found someone to take pictures of my sweet family and sweet baby girl, keepsakes that I will treasure for ever!! I use her often and will continue to use her to document our life here on this earth!! Enjoy the pictures, Erin from Erin Renee Photography took them, look her up, I promise you will not be disappointed!!

Reagan's First Birthday!!!

Reagan turned one on December 3rd, 2009!! I can't believe that my baby is one!! We celebrated Reagan's birthday on December 5th, 2009. We threw Reagan a little birthday party with some of our closest friends!! We really had a great time, and I think Reagan enjoyed herself!!! We had the party at our house, and kept things pretty simple. I came up with the theme of her party based on the invitation that I chose.

I ordered the invitations from Minted. I thought they turned out so so cute!! So, the theme of the party was adopted and the planning began!! I had way TOO much fun planning her party!!

Decorations....

Food.....

Brownie Pops, yummy!!

Marshmallow Pops, so so cute, and super easy to make!! I thought they turned out too cute!!

The cake was wonderful, lemon cake with buttercream icing!!! Yumm!! My mom always made a lemon cake for me each year for my birthday, so I decided to adopt that tradition for Reagan's birthday's (until she tells me otherwise:))

Spinach artichoke dip, buffalo chicken dip, rotel cheese dip, veggies, fruit, etc...

Happy Birthday Beautiful

Reagan Avery, you are a big one year old now, my big girl. How I have relished in each and every moment that we have spent this past year. You have brought so much joy into our lives. I love you more than I ever thought possible, and celebrate your first year of life with so much joy in my heart!! I have watched you grow and change from my sweet little baby girl into a big girl full of energy and life!! I have enjoyed this journey so much and feel so blessed to be your momma!!

I pray that sickness and strife evade you and joy and happiness abound in your life!! Each night as I lay you down to sleep, I place you in God's capable hands, knowing and trusting that he will love and protect you always!! I pray that you always find truth and peace in the promises of God, and that someday, in due time, that you give your heart and life to Jesus!!

Happy Birthday Beautiful, you are loved more than you know!!

Thanksgiving 2009

I have so so many things to post, we have had a busy few weeks. So, I am going to take it one step at a time, and one post at a time (this is the only way I can ever get ANYTHING done without getting overwhelmed). So, on to our exciting Thanksgiving. Jeremy, Reagan, Maggie and I had a quiet Thanksgiving at home this year, no traveling, no family, no big plans, just relaxing and spending quality time together. It was really nice. We started the day off with a little turkey trot!! We participated in the annual Fort Worth Turkey Trot (5K run/walk) that helps raise money for the local YMCA programs for families and children in the Fort Worth area. We got up early, bundled up and headed to Fort Worth. We met some friends and we walked and walked our little hearts out while Reagan rode in her stroller and took a nice little nap:-))

Reagan all bundled up and ready to go!!

A new family tradition

There were TONS of people there, it was crazy!!!

It only took us a little over an hour to finish:-))

After we got finished with our turkey trotting, we stopped at starbucks and then headed home to put our turkey in the oven. We had tons of food for just the three of us, really just the two of us (Reagan was NOT interested in any of the Thanksgiving food). We had a 16 pound turkey, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, cucumbers (a Sobray family tradition), squash casserole, focaccia bread stuffing, and pumpkin pie. The food was really really good....

We cooked and baked and prepared our Thanksgiving feast all day long, Reagan was an angel and played and just had a great time. And then, as soon as we set the table and sat down to enjoy the fruits of our exhaustive labor, poof, our sweet angel that played contently all day long turned into a not so sweet angel, and she screamed and screamed and screamed her cute little head off the ENTIRE time that we ate, seriously, it was crazy!! So, we ended eating our delicious meal that took hours upon hours to create, in less than 5 minutes!! And not long after we were done eating and has started the clean up part of the Thanksgiving meal, she decided she was ready to play again and our angel returned.

So, overall, Reagan's first Thanksgiving was a success, and we had a good relaxing time (minus the 10 minutes of screaming)!! We spent the rest of the day and weekend doing some shopping and decorating our home for Christmas!!

Here are some pictures of our sweetie in her sweet Thanksgiving outfit:
